Jimmy focuses his practice in commercial real estate matters, representing and advising clients in the assemblage, acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing, and development of various commercial real estate asset classes, including multi-family housing, retail, hospitality, office, industrial, and planned communities. In representing developers and builders in connection with planned communities, Jimmy assists with the land assemblage, subdivision, and construction financing of the development, as well as formation of the property owners’ association and drafting of the declaration, restrictive covenants, bylaws, and other community governance documents.
Jimmy sees himself not just as a part of his client’s team, but a part of their company and invested in their success.

- Represented a real estate developer with the land acquisition and construction financing of a medical office building located in an Opportunity Zone, and negotiation of a single tenant lease agreement with a regional medical provider.
- Buyer/Borrower representation in the land assemblage, construction financing, and joint venture agreement for a $24 million apartment project.
- Counsel to a real estate developer in connection with the land assemblage, subdivision, and construction financing of a 100 unit single family residential community, and related HOA formation and governance matters
- Buyer representation in connection with a portfolio acquisition of multiple locations from a national car wash owner and operator.
- Seller counsel in connection with the disposition of a multi-family apartment complex for $34 million
- Counsel to a real estate developer in the land assemblage, development, and construction financing on a number of multi-family development projects in the Southeast United States.

Each real estate transaction is unique, and we feel it is important from the outset to discuss our real estate services so that each client has the opportunity to tailor our engagement to the specific transaction. We are asked to be involved through the life cycle of a transaction and to advise on various phases of the deal, including structuring the deal, coordinating due diligence, settlement and closing services, document management, and managing debt and equity financing.
Our real estate services include:
- Drafting and implementation of residential and commercial declarations, reciprocal easement agreements, and similar property governing instruments.
- Landlord and tenant representation for various lease structures, including, without limitation, multi-tenant shopping center leases, multi-tenant office leases, build to suit leases, and ground leases.
- Work closely with corporate counsel handling various real estate matters ancillary to M&A transactions
- Project and diligence management, including: title and survey review; lender diligence requirements; local land use entitlements and permitting; environmental review; lease and service contract review.
- Review and negotiation of construction, architect, and engineer agreements, including form AIA agreements and other construction and development instruments
